Reiki is a form of therapy that uses simple hands-on techniques, with the objective of improving the flow of life energy within a person. The basic concept of reiki is that the physical form has a surrounding energy field that is central to its health and well being. This energy travels in certain pathways that can become stuck or depleted. This concept is also shared in Ayurvedic and Chinese Medicine, including acupuncture. Reiki is a healing energy in the truest sense of the word, leading to greater individual harmony and attunement with the self and the basic forces of life. Reiki is used for balancing the mind, body and spirit. Hands on and remote (distance) sessions offer an invaluable approach to balancing energy, releasing stress and processing emotional wounding. By clearing, healing and strengthening the energy pathways, it promotes a healthy open flow of energy through the person receiving the treatment.
Reiki, as well as 'Healing Touch' have been embraced within many Western Medical Organizations. Today, Healthcare Facilities, Hospice Care, Cancer Centers and Hospitals are beginning to acknowledge this modality and to employ Reiki Practitioners.
I completed my Level II Reiki Practitioner Certification training in Sei-Chem
and Usui Shiki Ryoho Reiki in 1992, through the expertise and guidance of my Reiki Master, Dr. Ritah Hildebrandt.
